Just for fun!

Well, we're in the last month of Autumn here at the moment.  The days are getting cooler.  As the names I use for my children suggest, we're heading into birthday season!

About this time of year I start planning birthday cakes!  One of my favourite childhood memories is choosing a birthday cake from the tattered old women's weekly cookbook and having it appear on my birthday - my mum worked hard on them!  I really wanted to continue this tradition with my children.  So, I was thinking, a post with pictures of all their previous cakes (provided I can find pictures!) would be fun!

First up, my first child, Winter Rose:

1st birthday, based on 'rainbow fish'

4th birthday

5th birthday
check out my mad paint skills!

7th - This was my first attempt at chocolate fondant icing!

These 3 are from our Mad Hatter's Tea Party Theme for her 8th birthday.  I didn't make the cupcakes or lollipops!  I did make the chocolate fudge and créme patisserie & strawberry tarts though, they were delicious!

And I'm out of time.  Took me ages to go through thousands of adorable photos!  Stay tuned for a post with my boy's cakes!
